During his time away from the Archive, he sneaks back to confront Mr Anderson, but in his unique way. He asks to see a photograph of his Mother. Oswald then stores her picture in his memory and sets to work out of the way of everybody else. He leaves Marilyn a chance to reclaim the collection through the story of Hettie and its relationship with Mr Anderson. But she wouldn't know about it until he tried to kill himself.
